The TOA IR-820SP is a ceiling-mounted powered infrared speaker designed for classroom PA systems in rooms of approximately 10 m x 10 m. Its integrated receiver provides 360° horizontal reception for separate teacher and student channels, while a 20 W Class D amplifier and 12 cm full-range driver deliver a 100 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response.

Designed for use with compatible TOA infrared wireless microphones and the IR-802T Infrared Wireless Tuner, the system supports simultaneous operation in adjacent classrooms while reducing interference and eavesdropping concerns. The IR-820SP receives 24 V DC power from the tuner and connects using CAT-5 UTP cable through its RJ45 terminal.
